Filthy Gorgeous

Saturday night, April 8, the Full Frame Film Festival had an interesting showing at Cinema Paradiso in downtown Ft. Lauderdale. "Filthy Gorgeous, The Trannyshack Story" tells the 10 year history of the club in San Francisco of the same name. I attended that club on many occasions over the years, including a few Halloween, Christmas, and New Year celebrations.

The film is very well made and a fascinating look at the SF underground and counter-culture.
Unfortunately, only 14 people attended this viewing, even with advertising in the local gay media. Margeaux attended, but nobody seemed to notice her beauty, class or sheer size.
If you get the opportunity to see this film at any of your local independent festivals, do check it out.

Www.Trannyshack.com is their very active website. They even offer a calendar for sale.

I just watched "Paragraph 175," the 2000 documentary by Freidman and Epstein. Check out this powerful film about Nazi persecution of homosexuals during WW II.

"All Aboard! Rosie's Family Cruise" is another great documentary; I saw it last week.
