Snorkeling

It has been over 2 weeks since my first snorkeling adventure with David, Gail, Abigail and Millicent Wood. We ordered the trip through Scuba Network, a few blocks from my condo, a few days before we went out. I had to rent equipment, but the Woods all had theirs with them.

We went out of Hillsborough Inlet in a glass bottom boat. There were probably 30 of us including the racist opthamologist from Canada, but that is another story. We stopped over the reef about 1 mile out from shore and spent over an hour there. We were 12 feet above the reef and some nurse sharks. Then we moved due East of The Sea Watch Restaurant in Pompano, and over the wreck of the Copenhagen from the late 1800's.

It was all very interesting and it took me a little time to GET the breathing technique with a snorkel. I tried going without fins, since mine were so tight, but the current was very strong and it was a tough workout. Abby lent me hers, since she is such a strong swimmer.

What a great experience and well-worth the $35 fee per person for a 3 to 4 hour trip.
